Post release: results of the 18th Woodex International Exhibition

WOODEX 2023 - the 18th International Exhibition of Equipment, Materials and Components for the Woodworking and Furniture Industry was held with great success from the 28th of November to the 1st of December 2023 in the first pavilion of the Crocus Expo IEC.

Based on the statistics confirmed by the UFI official audit, on the feedback from exhibitors and visitors, we can call Woodex the main exhibition in the industry in Russia!

Woodex 2023 exposition

At the Woodex exhibition, visitors - industry specialists had an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the maximum number of offers from manufacturers and suppliers that are in the industry at the moment, and choose the most suitable products and solutions for the development of their business.

An extensive exposition with multi-ton equipment in action in three halls of the first pavilion of the Crocus Expo IEC occupied 18,000 square meters of exhibition space.

During the four days of the exhibition more than 300 machines were demonstrated in operation: edge banding, drilling and filler machines, band saws, format cutting machines, milling machines, tenoning machines and others. The entire 2nd hall was occupied by an exposition of the LIGA company, which presented 80+ machines in action, including Russian and world premieres.

In 2023 year, **210 companies presented their products at the exhibition: 100 Russian and 110 foreign companies from 8 countries: Russia, Austria, Germany, Italy, China, Latvia, the Republic of Belarus and Turkey. For the first time, 49 companies took part in the exhibition. **

The exhibition was visited by 8,190 specialists from 26 countries and 75 regions of the Russian Federation to find the necessary equipment, materials, and components onsite. The number of visitors increased by 42% compared to Woodex 2021. Representatives of 6,053 companies were among the visitors, which is 27% more than in 2021. This significant growth is due to the industry’s great interest in high-quality equipment for woodworking and furniture production. For the first time, the exhibition was visited by 4,843 people.

Woodex 2023 Business programme

During the 3 days, the exhibition featured the rich business programme dedicated to current industry topics.

59 speakers were involved in the business program events, 400+ industry specialists attended the Digital Furniture Forum and partner’s conferences.

For the first time, the Digital Furniture Forum was held as part of the exhibition.

Digital Furniture Forum is the largest platform for communications of the professional community of the furniture and woodworking industry.

The Digital Furniture Forum exposition occupied the entire hall No. 2. Three key equipment areas were presented at the site: furniture production, solid wood processing, and door production.

In each of the zones, world premieres of new equipment in operation, automated lines and robotic cells were demonstrated. At the exhibition, visitors were able to communicate directly with representatives of manufacturing plants.

The Digital Furniture Forum business programme took place in the conference hall F during the three days.

Industry experts discussed the following topics:

an integrated approach to automation and digitalization of the furniture industry;
CRM systems and their role in managing a furniture enterprise;
AI for business and production;
promotion of furniture brands and access to marketplaces;
the current state and prospects of the door market in Russia, the situation around the export and import of doors.

Also, within the framework of the exhibition, two conferences of exhibition partners were held:

Conference "Energy from biomass: boiler houses and thermal power plants using biofuel, production of pellets, briquettes and wood chips"

The event brought together an audience of experts in the field of production and marketing of various types of biofuels, primarily wood pellets, briquettes, and wood chips. The conference participants discussed the implementation of projects for the conversion of boiler equipment to biofuel and the construction of new boiler houses, as well as issues related to the logistics and distribution of biofuel within the country and abroad.

Conference "WOODWORLD 2023"

At the event, experts discussed the state and prospects of the market for timber industry products in Russia - lumber, wood boards, plywood, pellets, as well as changes in the logistics of timber cargo, including new logistics routes for Russian exporters. A presentation of a roadmap for cooperation between timber processing companies and companies involved in wooden house construction took place.

Woodex 2023 official visits

Mr. Weijian, Secretary General of China Forestry Machinery Association (CNFMA), together with his colleagues visited the Woodex 2023 exhibition, got acquainted with the exposition, exhibitors and negotiated on cooperation with Dmitry Zavgorodniy, General Director of ITE group, and Sergey Irtuganov, Director of the Woodex exhibition.

Trade representatives of the Embassies of Turkey and Brazil also visited the exhibition. During the visits, they got acquainted with the exhibition of the event and the products of the exhibitors.
